Advanced Network Laboratory
January 10, 2000

Students of the Colleges of Business and Engineering will use this laboratory to develop a better understanding of the theory and practice of network technology. This laboratory features the latest in state of the art network technology and equipment to enable our students to learn through applied applications how to design, engineer, and manage sophisticated networks. The equipment consists of: switches, hubs, and routers with Voice Over IP, as well as ATM, fast ethernet, tokenring, and ISDN capabilities. This is only the first phase of a three-phase implementation contemplated to include last mile technologies and network management resources that will be implemented in the future.

Dedication of this laboratory as the Cisco Systems Advanced Network Laboratory reflects Cal Poly's appreciation of Cisco Systems' long-standing support for its educational programs and our teaching mission. We look forward to continuation of the mutually beneficial partnership between Cal Poly, Cisco Systems. Intel, and NetCom for years to come.
