Software Release Criteria

Quartzware has established the following formal criteria that must be met before the software can be released.

    1. At least 90% of planned code is complete.

We had planned on completing approximately 2579 lines of code.
We actually completed 2478 lines of code.

      2478/2579 96%

    2. The slope of the code growth curve for the week prior to release must be less than 50%.

We produced 55 lines of code in week 8, and 89 lines of code in week 9.

      55/89 = 62%

    3. At least 90% of binary miniature milestones are complete.

We finished about all of our miniature milestones and completed all of the modules we had assigned for this release with the exception of Find. Find was taken out of the staged delivery plan a week ago.

    4. There are no severity 1 open defects.

All defects that have been reported to this date have been fixed.

    5. The number of defects reported must be at least 80% of predicted.

We had planned on finding 80 defects and actually found 90.

      90/80 = 113%

    6. 75% of all severity 2 reported defects must have been fixed.

All defects that have been reported to this date have been fixed.

    7. The Release Sign-Off form has been signed by all parties.
    8. In the week prior to release, the ratio of defects reported to defects fixed must be less than 25%
      15/27 = 56%
