CPE/CSC 581-S07 Usability and Knowledge Management Project -- Team Web Pages on counties

Setting up Web Pages in your Team Account

Your team Web pages should be located on your team account on the hornet/falcon system. In those accounts, the directory "www" already exists, and contains material from previous projects, arranged by the quarter in which the project was developed (e.g. F06). If the material is in a directory like public, move it to the respective directory under www.

Within the www directory, create a new directory "S07", for your material. The Web server assumes there will be a file "index.html" to serve as entry point. Either give that name to your main file, or create a symbolic link to it named "index.html". If your main file is "Team-5.html", the command "ln -s Team-5.html index.html" creates such a link. For each of the milestones and evaluations, create a file (or a link) according to the following scheme: Milestone-Week-2.html and Evaluation-Week-2.html. And finally create a file or link for the final versions Final-Documentation.html and Final-Evaluation.html. I use a large table with links to the various milestonse of all teams, and it critically depends on the naming conventions above.

Make sure that the permissions are set right:

Your Web pages will then (hopefully) be available at http://www.csc.calpoly.edu/~team_Xfk where X stands for your team number; if your team number has two digits, it's teamXXfk (no underscore).

Connecting to Hornet/Falcon

You can connect to the hornet/falcon system via remote login, ssh, or similar services (e.g. ssh hornet).
