What is a law?

Computer Law is a broad field; in no way can this page cover all areas of interest in great detail. There are many issues to look into, such as violation of intellectual property rights or state level computer crime laws. There are different levels of jusrisdiction that range from:

• Cal Poly -- the Cal Poly rules you are subject to.
• California -- which includes crimes dealing with unauthorized access and fraud.
• Federal -- which includes copyright law, patent law, trade secrets, and trademarks. It also includes things such as the Decency Act.
