Goals and Objectives Writing Assignment

Your first assignment has two principle purposes. First, it will give you an opportunity to refine your purposes for taking this class. Examine the course materials, think about the career paths that appeal to you, and determine the reasons you're taking the course. Avoid the sophomoric, trite response..."I'm taking it because it is required." This response will garner you so few points that it will not be worth the minimal effort required to write it.

The second purpose of this assignment is to permit you to explain your current understanding of the software development process. This portion of the paper should have two parts. The first part will explain your personal software development process; the second will explain your perception of the software industry's development practices.

Be sure you use proper English in your papers. With the ubiquity of spelling and grammar checkers, I think it is reasonable to expect papers that are free from such defects.
