Brian "Sparky" Johns

In a Nutshell:

Sometimes I'm a Computer Science Graduate student here at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo , and sometimes I work. My first job after graduating was with Sun Microsystems on a product called Sun Cluster, which adds clustering capability to the Solaris operating system for high availability.

Then I worked for a small company in San Luis Obispo on a wide area, broadband wireless Internet project, using Qualcomm's 1xEV technology.

When that went out of business, I went back to school. Then I did an internship at Apple in the OS group, working on Panther. Now I'm doing contracting up here in the Bay Area. Will I become a real employee, or just get strung along with no benefits for years, being a perma-temp? Stay tuned!
