 | Spring 2008 CommencementCal Poly hosts a University-wide Commencement on Sunday, June 15, 2008. The ceremony will be held in Spanos Stadium and will last approximately an hour and a half. The Computer Science Department will host our own post-commencement ceremony on Dexter Lawn immediately following the University-wide commencement. Department CeremonyThe Computer Science Department Ceremony will begin immediately following the University-wide Ceremony (at approximately 11:45 am) on the East end of Dexter Lawn, located in front of building 34, the Dexter Building. View the campus map for more information. No ticket or RSVP necessary to attend. When all computer science and software engineering graduates have arrived, a group photo will be taken by a professional photographer (Ultimate Exposures). 12:00pm Presentation of DiplomasMaster of Science Student ProcessionDr. Gene Fisher will perform the hooding ceremony and present commencement certificates to graduate candidates and blended BS+MS graduate candidates. Each candidate will be announced, and each student will say who they would like to thank, and then will proceed to be recognized. Individual photos will be taken of each graduate by the professional photographer (Ultimate Exposures). Bachelor of Science Student ProcessionDr. Ignatios Vakalis will present commencement certificates to BS candidates. Each student will be announced, each student will say who they would like to thank, and will then proceed on stage to be recognized. Individual photos will be taken of each graduate by the professional photographer (Ultimate Exposures). 12:30pm Light Refreshments will be available to all in attendance after the ceremony has endedRegistrationThe Grad Center at El Corral Bookstore opens in mid-May. Candidates pay the commencement fee, obtain guest tickets (10) and detailed instructions, and order and pay for caps and gowns. Only those who pay the fee by the deadline can be assured of receiving all ten (10) guest tickets. Guest admission is by ticket only to the University ceremony at Spanos Stadium. Additional tickets will not be available. Candidates not needing all of their tickets are encouraged to give extras to those who need more. Commencement Participation EligibilityStudent who complete degree requirements in Winter, Spring, or Summer Quarters 2008, as verified by the Evaluations Office, are eligible to participate in Spring Commencement 2008.
