The Cal Poly Computer Engineering Program has established
five educational objectives, to describe the attributes of
alumni 3-5 years following graduation:
- Graduates with a complete theoretical background in the fundamentals underlying computer engineering.
- Graduates that demonstrate technical knowledge and experience required for the practice of computer engineering.
- Graduates with experimental, testing, and research skills, based upon hands-on experience.
- Graduates with good communications skills, commitment to ethical standards of practice, and an understanding of the need for life-long learning.
- Graduates demonstrating a well-rounded understanding of social, interpersonal, artistic, and world issues, and the relationship between these and the practice of computer engineering.
