Bio

Hasmik Gharibyan was born, raised and educated in Armenia, one of 15 republics of the USSR. She got her higher education at Yerevan State University. She graduated from the university with honors in 1981, receiving M.S. in Applied Mathematics, and was hired to teach in her own department. In 1991 she received her Scientific Degree "Candidate of Physics and Mathematical Sciences" (equivalent to Ph.D. in the USA), specialty - Computational Mathematics. Hasmik Gharibyan taught in the Applied Mathematics Department of Yerevan State University for 15 years (1981-1996). In 1996 she moved to the USA.

Hasmik Gharibyan teaches at California Polytechnic State University of San Luis Obispo since September of 1998.
